Hi everyone. i just moved into a new house and the copper mains pipe that runs up a service space in the wall sounds like it is constantly running. I have changed the ball cock in the attic and checked it was shutting off and still i hear the noise. tried to trace main pipe as far as i can above ground and can't find and leaks. Also checked toilet cisterns. there is no visible signs of damp anywhere. can anyone tell me if this is normal noise or is there a leak somewhere. Thanks in advance

You could try turning off the main stopcock or the valve in the street and see if the noise stops, if you then prove its your mains then you can go from there, if it is the mains you may be better off with a plumber.
