Osteopath / Physio / Chiro?

A couple of months ago my right hip flexor became extremely tight. I went to see the physio who couldn't find what was wrong with me so just sent me away with some stretches.

Although the tightness eased with the stretches it never really went away. I seen a deal for a chiropractor centre and went to see them about it. They explained that my pelvis was twisted and that's what was causing the tightness and discomfort which made sense. Pursued with the treatment for a good number of sessions which I did find beneficial to a certain extent. I was told the issue would be cleared up in 4 - 6 sessions and when I got to 10 / 11 visits it still wasn't cleared up.

All I was getting was adjustments and no rehab work or no real feedback. The hip is now as tight and as uncomfortable as ever now and I'm looking for advice on who I should go to see?

From doing a bit of research I was thinking of going to see a reputable osteopath. Would you think that would be a good option? If so could anybody recommend one to me?

Or would I be better of seeing a reputable physio? If so could anybody also recommend one to me?

Don't want to be wasting any more time or money.

Thanks for your help and advice in advance.

Get back to your stretches and if you are still feel there is a problem go see another physio, one with an interest in sports injuries and biomechanics!

If you let us know what part of the country you are in someone might be able to make a recommendation.

    ...his location says "Dublin" guys.

And the best thing you can do is go to a good sports physio. Could be something as simple as poor glute activation causing it, or some other type of glute this function. Any good physio won't just tell you to stretch it and send you on your way.

I've had positive experiences with both Functional Training Ireland and Sports Med Ireland, both city centre.

Kind of timely for me this thread.

I think I tweaked my left hip flexor on Thursday.

It was not bad then but flared up on Saturday to the extent I was doing a good Dr. House impression!

I echo what is said above about a good sports physio.

My issue is hopefully minor and the result of doing a leg session (not impressive) of adductors, abductors, leg press and single glute extensions - followed by being cramped on a forklift for about 2 hours and then pulling 1tonne pallets around a warehouse.

Discomfort pulling knee up etc but a bit worse going out laterally.

I am going to google Teran Synge!

I am doing my stretches and will do some more all nice and easy mind as don't wish to aggravate it.

    Keep us updated Danye!

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread. I went to Teran Synge 4 times in total. both times were for two different un-related issues.

First time I had a back problem from being on a small sports bike. It took two visits to fix my back. Felt brand new after the work he did.

Secod visit was for Sciatica, I was in huge pain from walking for more than a few minutes. I would need to stop and sit. After two visit to Teran for this issue the pain went away. What ever he did fixed it and I was a new person.

I would highly recommend him and the work he does.

Look no further than Teran Synge he is fantastic. Yes you will have to wait a couple of weeks but totally worth it. Had spent hundreds on physios etc. Went to him, he spotted hip and shoulder out of alignment and he got it sorted.
