    Doc, Laser is on the way out. As far as I know all banks are on Visa Debit now which is much easier and widely accepted. If you've not received your card, go to your bank and get one.

    This is correct; but you can't "just go get one" yet - I'm AIB, and will still be using their Laser cards until they switch to Visa Debit, which isn't till September at the earliest

    Like the others have said laser is thing of the past, until you get a visa debit (you'll wonder how you ever got by without one) you could use a prepay card. Or if your bank is currently in the process of switching, you could "loose" your card as people who are without any card or their cards are about to expire are the ones to get the cards first. Again check and see if your bank is currently in the process of switching

    Well thank you very much for informing me of this! I had no idea that Laser was so unfashionable:o I am with BOI so do I just go into one of their branches and sign up for Visa Debit? Will it cost me any money?

    BOI are issuing Visa Debit cards now. Just ask them for one. Simples.

    And it won't cost you any money.
