Boot(marks) on the bonnet

    Hey all,

Just noticed that somebody took a step on my car at some stage in the last 24 hours. Left a nice dent on the bonnet.

    E43EABC4DFDD47D497657E55C825D294-0000334828-0002943715-00640L-F678EB116F764AA7A7E3101E79915790.jpg

Is there anything I can do to fix this myself? Or would it be something quick and cheap to ask a bodywork specialist to look after and have it done right...

    Thanks for opinions and help.

Goggle 'Paintless Dent Removal' or PDR.....should be easy enough to fix.

Saw some hits for dry ice, which is used to cool the metal and cause it to contract back into place. Any boardsies ever used that method?

Have also seen something similar.....think it was, heating the panel using a hair dryer and then quickly cooling with a can of deodorant....try finding it on Youtube

You'd want to be damn well sure the paint on the car would follow suit, otherwise I can see that going very badly...

It's not something if do myself....just said I seen something similar ;)

I'd go straight to a PDR specialist.

Have you tried to push it out from the inside ?

I don't think PDR will work there, they usually need something behind the dent to lever against to push the dent out.

Not always the case....sometimes they tap dents out with various sized hammers. Also there is nothing stopping them putting something in place to lever against, if necessary ;)

I've seen PDR in action several times and considered doing a week long course to be able to do small, easy to fix dents....the OP's should be handy to sort.

Not yet - was afraid of doing more harm, to be honest. The hope is that one good push and it'd all pop back into shape, but I had a feeling that my luck is that I'd end up with 4 or 5 little peaks in the dent from where I was pushing back!
