BBC3 is now 24hrs - a situation that will continue until the end of the Olympics - alas on UPC BBC3 only appears after 7pm.

Is this a technical hitch ? or is UPC not carrying the full BBC3 service ?

Have a look at the EPG.It's 24hrs from now on. Where's the so called technical glitch?

Because the screen was black until 7pm this evening,

EPG listing does not mean the programme appears - reference BBC HD at the weekend

Great news if BBC3 is 24hrs during the olympics.

What program's where supposed to be on during the day today?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/programmes/schedules/2012/07/26

None. From channel start up at 7pm today it's running 24hrs.

Have a look at Fridays schedule on the BBC site and then look at the EPG and you'll see the same.

BBC3 on UPC was a black screen - BBC3 on Sat was not.

Implication that UPC had not adjusted to the 24hr service.

EPG does not imply coverage as per earlier reply.

BBC 3 did not start programmes until 7pm today as usual.

It should be 24 hours from now.

Sorry, but when do you think BBC3 went 24hrs?
According to their own schedule BBC3 start showing programs during the day from tomorrow.
A blank screen till 7pm today was correct as per the BBC3 schedule.

What are you talking about BBC3 on Saturday was not,was not what?

He meant satellite not Saturday. Think on sky they transmit a rolling ident while off air, where upc don't show anything bar a blank screen

    Thanks - Sat = Satellite

BBC3 is normally a black screen on Satellite as well until 7pm (bandwidth is used for CBBC) idents only started with the transfer of bandwidth from BBC Parliament over the last few days.

Thus the query re UPC's black screen

Maybe he did, but still off air is off air no matter whats on the screen. 24hr service only started from 7pm tonight. BBC3 twiiter states this as does their own web site listings. Now unless Infoanon is posting from the future and knows something the rest of us have yet to witness......:pac:

BBC3 is a black screen this morning on UPC despite the EPG carrying programming.

So is this a technical hitch ? or is UPC not carrying BBC3's 24hr service ?

The technical issue seems to be resolved. BBC3 is now broadcasting in the clear, was a blank screen earlier. Looking forward to Olympic coverage.

I had a little chuckle when BBC3 went to a black screen at 7pm this evening (Saturday) on UPC.....

Glad to say it was back before 7.15
