Casein Protein powder serving size

    Hi all.
    Im taking a Casein protein powder supplement before bed and was wondering should I stick with 30g size or can I increase for my night shake.

    I know that generally your body cannot process more than 30g in one sitting, except directly after a workout, but since the Casein protein is slow absorb, would it be possible/beneficial to up the serving size above the 30g I take now?

    Firstly this is not true.

    Secondly the amount of protein you have before bed depends on YOUR macros and what YOU need.

    Thirdly there is no need for casein, protein is protein.

    thats wrong in fairness mate, whey, casein, egg, meet etc are all different forms of protein made up of different chains of amino acids!.

    On Casein, its slow releasing protein that doesn't spike insulin levels as much as much as say whey. Casein is great on a cut and great in the evening or before bed. When your in fat burning mode the last thing you'd want do is take whey directly before bed or when you plan on settling down. :)

    MY first foray with casein was funny - as I used the same amount of powder to liquid ratio!

    You can add 50g but increase the liquid as required.

    When your in fat burning mode the last thing you'd want do is take whey directly before bed or when you plan on settling down. :)

    Why?

    true but you could be in a calorie deficit all you want and not get ripped if your diet doesn't compliment your deficit. Safe bet is too take the casein and avoid whey in the evening. The one thing iv learnt about cutting up and getting south of 10 % naturally is that controlling your insulin/carb levels are key.
