Who are you actually buying these from? Because in the T&C's it says they just email you a voucher.

Same laptop is €949 on pixmania

    Details say

    Wholesale Masters
    Osmaston Park Road
    Derby
    Derbyshire
    DE24 8BT

And if you pay by Paypal there is no need for a voucher and it will be posted automatically(as such)

I paid via Paypal but it still requires a voucher which I am waiting to be emailed after the deal time ends.

Anyone who paid that for this laptop would need their head examined.
It's a good price at @389, don't get me wrong, but there are better specced laptops available for < €600 with no discounts.

Looks like decent spec, and that's not a bad price at all

Has to be a catch though

Ha, €389 and <€600 are two very different figures.

Show us an example of a similar spec for the same price.

Links please? i5, usb3, blu-ray, amd 6470 and lightweight. Seems like a great deal if there's no catch

I saw that earlier and it was €100 more and I still thought it was a good deal. It was a 51% or so discount a few hours ago and is now a 62% discount.

If someone can find a catch in this deal please point it out because I'm seriously tempted to buy if its legit.

looks a fine deal to me. i have a decent laptop and have no need for it , but i was tempted for a minute or two. Can't see the catch to be honest. Nice , fast laptop, and lightweight for holidays etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Anyone used them before? I know there is another thread about a TV, but I didn't see anyone saying they ordered or received anything.

On paypal it says ''Payment complete, now returning to dealbuzz.me''

The only other sites I know with backup .me domains are ones that display illegal streams and are just waiting for their main domain to go down! :D

It's the same company that is selling the 32" TV over in the other thread. Guy here says he has dealt with them before without any problems.

The price is still £804.99 on Wholesale masters website http://www.wmasters.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=18

How can the sell it for €389?

Something doesn't sit right with this. That's a serious drop in price when sterling is factored in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,540 ✭✭✭✭2smiggy

    Fine Print

    Multiples may be purchased
Postage and packaging is included in the price for Ireland only
Please allow up to 7 - 14 working days for delivery of the product
No need to redeem your voucher, your product will be sent out automatically using the address used when purchasing through Paypal.
Wholesales Masters will contact you in 48 hours of the deal ending to confirm your postal address and contact telephone number for courier delivery

all seems ok , seems automatic if ordered through Paypal.

Was considering an ipad as my current laptop is losing the war on terror against two toddlers. This might swing it though.

Tread warily folks. Seems way too cheap for what it is. but yes already know that;) would love to bite the bullit myself, but it's just too distant from the price of other sellers.

Hubby saw this on sale in Currys in London last month at around £400 and was tempted also... heavy on battery and bit sluggish in performance, nice screen etc. Model due for replacement might be reason it is being reduced? Not available in Currys/PCworld here

Pure crap. It's a terrific deal, if it turns out to be for real.

Mention here of almost being conned out if £500 for a new tv from that crowd but no details...

    http://passionford.com/forum/general-non-car-related-discussion/427925-anyone-dealt-with-wholesale-masters-in-derby.html
Cant find the proper ltd company name for them though if they have one.

Dealbuzz are legit but you're only buying a voucher off them.
Great deal if it works out - good luck to whoever orders one!

EDIT: after doing a whois check on wmasters.co.uk it seems they are Wholesale Masters Ltd who registered the site. That company is registered in London with a status of 'per dissolution'. It means they haven't filled papers and the companies register is recommending they are struck off. Usually but not always this is a sign of the company being in trouble. Caveat Emptor!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,938 ✭✭✭deadwood

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what are people talking about when you say you're getting a voucher?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,383 ✭✭✭peckerhead

    They're not paying attention... ;)
No need to redeem your voucher, your product will be sent out automatically using the address used when purchasing through Paypal.
Very tempting, even if it only comes in red (the 'R' in the part number). Full specs here.
Wonder what the story is with the warranty? If something went wrong I wouldn't fancy dealing with Wholesale Masters, tbh.

Ah, not necessarily. That road goes on for a good mile and a half. There's a Sainsburys on it (or there was a couple of years ago when the Google Street View van passed...). Sure Dealbuzz itself is an apartment in Stepaside: http://goo.gl/maps/p4zUu

    A solitary post from someone:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=76073832&postcount=158

Don’t buy any products from dealbuzz.ie site.

I bought 2 products from this site(cam-recorder & spy pens) at the end of Oct 2011 and have only received one item (cam-recorder) which has missing parts and the other item (spy pens) i am still waiting on. So much for giving this as a Xmas gift to someone as it will prob be the New Year before i will receive it.

The site is not useful and i am not even getting a reply from the company.
Best advice; don’t buy any products on this site as i have learned the hard way! I know now i will not use their site again.

They'd hardly still have a Paypal account if they were constantly having to do chargebacks though?

    Hi Guys..
I thought I should address this, my name is Janine Meehan and I am the Company Director of dealbuzz.ie
Dealbuzz.ie is a limited company owned by myself, it started in my home in Stepaside and we have now a sales office in Dublin Port.
The deals tha we are running are legitimate. The reason why we have ran them at such a great discount is that Wholesalemasters are interested in a high volume of turnover of products to get better prices from the manufacturers & Dealbuzz have dramitacally dropped our commission to achieve a reputation of giving customers great discounts.
All products are bought through Paypal giving you 100% security in purchasing products
If anyone has any further questions, please feel free to contact us directly through the website.
    Best Regards
    Janine

Have you done business with Wholesalemasters on dealbuzz before and everything worked out grand?

    Hi Janine,

Boards news reached you in rapid quick time. In relation to the laptop, and the voucher, how is it redeemed, or in case of PayPal and direct ship, where it shipping from. I'm assuming from your post that it is all above board but I'm sure you can understand the scepticism, taking into account the extremely low advertised price.

    Thanks in advance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,383 ✭✭✭peckerhead

Thanks for posting, Janine — could you tell us anything about the warranty on these laptops? It's not mentioned in wmasters' rather oddly-worded T&C, and their phones were unattended when I rang at about 4pm.

It's an important element of that "100% security" you mentioned, after all.

    Hi All,

We have ran a deal last week and some have been delivered already for €189

Also one of the largest UK sites have done a few deals with them in the past and we have got references from them, see (not so good) deal below
    http://www.wowcher.co.uk/deals/london/deal-7288-detail/517-instead-689-94-samsung-40-3d-led-smart-tv-3d/deal.html

    The process is,
The deal end we send Wholesalemasters your contact details, they will then contact you in 1 or 2 days to confirm right postal address and contact number (due to massive demand it may take a day longer) and then they dispatch and delivery is in 2 weeks.
Postage is covered in the dealprice
    Thanks
    janine

Is it 'proper' to have to wade through 4 pages to winkle out the truth about a seriously dodgy company. Could a moderator not tailor the thread header or otherwise warn members?

The above price is the listed price for a varying range of retailers across the internet. Have you used a deal site before? They strike a deal with the supplier to take huge volume in return for a huge reduction.

For example many of these sites offer a 60% reduction in a hotel prices but if you visit the hotel directly the price is listed still as full price. Do you expect wholesale masters to be showing the deal price on the website? I fail to see the basis for your suspicion?

Right then, I'll close the thread, please do your own research into these companies and their terms and conditions and legal obligations, then decide for yourself if you still want to part with your money.
