When you go into the TP list, before you "Add Transponder", try using the right arrow button to change the satellite from Astra 2 to Eurobird 1, then add the transponder and do the search again.

Let us know how you get on.

Yes it worked, thanks a million Avns1s I would never have thought of that, all good now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,426 ✭✭✭Avns1s

No bother. It's a weird one but have come across it a number of times with the Ariva boxes.

While I'm at it do you or anyone else know what was the procedure for adding a channel that still let you use RTEs Aertel? Sorry for being a pain, I only vaguely remember it being mentioned...

if you just select astra and do a blind search it picks up the euro bird channels

Bit of a strange one here, swapping HDMI lead around cured the lack of sound on Youtube etc. (TV from the box was fine). I'm stuck with the buffering symbol in the middle of the screen now even though the video is playing flawlessly despite the box being plugged into a 50Mb/s line.

Does anyone know how to get the aertel channel on the 250 or was that a temporary thing that's gone now?

Scan the transponder with the Irish tv channels & RTE radio: 10744 H, 22000. The tv channels are encrypted but the text is there on RTE, TV3 & TG4.

    Got it thanks for that.

If I could find Challenge and Vintage tv Id be in business, they've gone to No Signal but no sign of them having changed recently...

Challenge tv has changed freq. there's another thread in the satellite forum.

Hi guys hope I'm in the correct forum! Would there be a possibility of anyone having an upto date channel list for the ariva 250? All hd's, sports, etc. I've been trying to do one but it's severely tedious!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,347 ✭✭✭✭Tony

Right forum ok but I'm afraid I only have FTA lists done . Hopefully someone will be along with a pay tv list soon.

    Thanks Tony,

I've been trying to sort out bouquets on my Ferguson ariva 250. Takes quite some time but when I go back to each bouquet everytime even after saving the channels they are all the place again !!! Surely I can save them somehow and they'll stay as I have left them.

    Thanks again..

No problem. Perhaps do a change then save it to a dumpfile, the re load from the dumpfile to see if the change sticks ? Make sure your channel list is also not set to display A to Z

.... Yes indeed thanks for that! I have it on lock now and if that doesn't work I will try the dumpfile. I'm back in on the ariva and think its quite good but arranging all the channels is seriously tedious. Can't find BBC 3 and 4 .. Wud u kno the frequency? Have tried a few, think they changed on 4/10 but still can't locate. Thanks again, sound man!

My pleasure, BBC 3 and 4 did not change to my knowledge and should be available after 7pm. There's a sticky thread that should have the freqs

Sounds like you upgraded your firmware to latest Sept Firmware. Go back to the July firmware. There is a known bug in sept version.

I see that Movies4Men, more>movies, euronews, and some more channels have changed to frequencies above around 12500 or 12600 which I am not receiving. Is it that some frequencies are just not received in certain areas?

Try this, worked for me when I got them back last weekend:

So add the transponder to the Eurobird list instead of Astra, the transponders are Astra transponders though according to http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php, anyway, I'll try it, thanks

I did indeed givecredit. Where do I find the July version and what version is it do u know? Does the bug cause the channels in bouquets to keep scrambling around aggravating folk?

I thought this September version was reasonably reliable...

You're correct but its a little bug on the Ariva from what Avns1s said I think, worked straight away for me anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 404 ✭✭king2

    That worked, thanks again

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I've actually took another one altogether.....Went to Harvey Norman last week end and took the Seagate Expansion 2TB..don't ask why..saw it, bought it, simple as that...., at least I'll have more than enough space in there.... A bit more expensive but have to say that it works great...

But thanks for your help and advice.

    Seb.

    Hopefully someone can help

Would the Ariva 250 Tuner need a stronger signal than the tuner on a saorview enabled tv? I'm unable to get saorview through the combo box to an old tv - 39% signal intensity /10% signal quality

I'm using the right channels and have turned off the DVB-T power ( that had me at 0% quality)

However if i connect the antenna cable to saorview enabled tv directly it picks up saorview no problem

Yes in general combos do need a reasonable signal strength on terrestrial. perhaps check your coax connections.
