    Hi guys,

Just wondering if i can get tuition fee grant while I'm studying in the UK.

I'm only looking for tuition fees as i'm hoping to be receiving BTEA and according to studentfinance info and some research i did last year I'm still eligible for tuition fees even while on BTEA...but would this cover the UK where tuition fees for my year will be €4k?

I'm going into a final year at a UK university!

I'd appreciate it if anyone could let me know as I've also applied for a student tuition fee loan for Bank Of England but i'm not sure if i'll be successful at all...and BTEA isn't yet guaranteed either so I'd like to know I've got some kind of financial support :s

    Thanks in advance!

I don't think you do get fees paid in uk

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Thanks Mango Salsa,

It's a little confusing because it says under the student grant section:

Support is available to eligible students in most colleges in Ireland as well as eligible Irish students in many colleges in Northern Ireland, the UK and other EU States. For eligible students, the grant is there to help with the various costs of participating in further or higher education.

And then under the BTEA section it says:

Since September 2010, students entering a new course who are in receipt of the BTEA are no longer eligible for a maintenance grant. Such students can, however, apply under the student grant scheme to have the student contribution charge and any tuition fees payable for the course paid on their behalf.

The problem is I can't see any mention of students just looking for contribution/tuition fees (as apposed to an overall maintenance grant) being eligible for just those fees if studying in the UK...am hoping that it would be the same?

Thanks for the SUSI info i'll contact them and see what the story is...in the meantime if anyone has any experience of this I'd appreciate it if you could give me some pointers as I've found that sometimes the people involved in grants etc can be a little vague and i have to say from past experience downright dissuasive and mis-informative and i've always found it easier if i have a little knowledge on things myself before dealing directly with them.

    Thanks guys.
