    Hi all,

I have a Windows 7 phone (HTC Titan) and looking for some apps while cycling my MTB. I have MapmyRide but just wondering are there any better ones?

Also would really like a GPS app to pick up different trails on the mountain as I frequently get myself lost going down dead ends. :-P

Also if there are not many for Windows then what are the best for android as I have an old android phone lying about too?

    Thanks in advance

Would also be interested in an answer to this question. Have been using mapmyride, but if you stop almost for any length of time the app stops.

Need one that will let you pause and the continue.

I find Endomondo very good. Been using it for about a year now and it's been my fave so far (have tried a couple for cycling, walking, running...)

Strava is the one I use. The big feature it offers are segments. You can race/pace against yourself or others; I find this very motivational. On the other hand, it doesn't allow for route planning like mapmyride.
You should be able to export some of your rides from what you are now using and import them into Strava - handy if you want to see what its like.
It doesn't work on w7 but is great on Android and IOS.
Oh, as an x windows mobile user, I need to tell you: windows 7 appears lost and lonely. Microsoft had enough chances and appear to have blown it with w7. I'd blame it on complacency. Chuck it and get a proper phone ;-)
    One with apps!

How would I go about this?

I haven't done an export in mapmyride - I've only done imports. Basically, you need a GPX file. These can hold just the line on a map or can contain extra information regarding altitude, speed at certain points, etc. I had a quick look at mapmyride and I think it may strip out the extra info that makes a GPX file interesting - and therefore suitable for uploading to strava.

Uploading a route in strava is easy - just click the orange "Upload Activity" button on the top right side. If you have the original routes from a Garmin device, you should be able to re-import them. If not, just start using Strava from now on!

Have a google - I'm sure there's more info out there.

SportsTracker is pretty good. Brought over from Nokia side. Has a nice web console to analyse your cycle/ run etc afterwards.

What is the best and most detailed map app (no rhyme intended) on the android or windows marketplace? I would be looking for a mountain/forest terrain one rather than roads.
