Just out of curiosity, does anyone find the fact that people, in their late 20's/early 30's, maybe even older, getting excited about super hero films a little f*cked up??

I had this conversation with my friends, both late 20's and early 30's. They pre- booked their tickets and sounded pretty much like 14 year olds going on about star wars. But this goes for a lot of people of that age group.

I saw the one with heath ledger and found it pretty drab, something about men dressing up and kicking each other loses its effect after puberty. I'm pretty used to adults and computer games, talking about tit's, acting like lads in a school yard, etc but something about grown ups talking about super hero films just grates me.

to each their own maybe?....I find the sight of sixty year old men and women screaming unrepeatable abuse at gaa players and referees every sunday, crying when their local team dont win some minor third division cup or other while their kids look on in bemusement fcuked up too....

but hey that's what they are into to, that's what matters to them that's what they enjoy....I'm sure some of your dearly held interests would look childish to others

    short answer............ no

I fall into that age bracket....I have been a fan of these characters for over half my life, I wear geeky t-shirts which display that I am a fan of these characters, I get excited when these films are released, I don't give two sh*ts how much this bugs you.

Well to be fair the characters in superhero films are from comics spanning 5 decades or more. People will have grown up reading them or watching the cartoons etc, there's no age limit on the enjoyment you're allowed to get from them. I grew up with Spider-man and Batman, I enjoy them and my enjoyment of them are not your concern.

I'm going to lock this thread, as I don't think it has any potential for intelligent, civilised discussion. This is a film discussion board, not a forum for generalised insults.
