What date is the next budget

I am hoping to take voluntary severance from a semi-state company this year and had set an exit date of mid-December. Someone has advised that I should go before the December budget as tax changes may affect my severance pay or lump sum. Any opinions on this and what date in December is the budget due?

AFAIK usually the changes which are listed in the budget only take place in the new financial year, as in from 1st January. Wouldn't make sense to change tax rates etc with only a few weeks of the year to go, and the public service wouldn't be able to implement them that quick anyway! :P

You should be safe to go mid-Dec
