I currently trade with Internaxx and I generally find them very good. I only invest spare change and I generally buy stock with the intent of holding onto them for a long period of time.

At the moment I have about €3,000 in Google (GOOG) and €3,000 in a Gold Bullion ETF. My intention is to hold onto them for another 3+ years. The problem is that Internaxx charge a Safe Custody Fee every quarter of about €17. So, €68/year is quite a hit given that I only have €6,000 invested (greater than 1% annual interest).

Can anybody suggest a more cost effective alternative than Internaxx?

TD Direct don't charge anything if you hold over €5,000 (please double-check this figure) in your account. I recently moved there from NIB, saving myself €20 / quarter
