    Hi
My shower has stopped working. It has T90 on it. How much should it cost to get a new one fitted. I have no idea of the cost and would like an idea before I get someone to do it.
    Thanks

I bought a Triton T90Z shower (probably the same?) in Bathroom Factory Store for €220 last week; as far as i know they are in B&Q for around 260.

I have no connection to them, other than I bought all my bathroom furniture there recently.

No idea of cost of any fitting, labour etc.

This is probably better off in Plumbing and Heating.

    Moved from prices/costs.

B&Q were cheap on them. Cant remember the price. Woodies always has offers in store if you can drop into both

it will cost you the new shower and about 150 for fitting.....

I wish Joey, their wouldn't be any recession, between 50 and 80 euro

    Nice price...

It is Joey, I can not remember a single occasion where it took more than 30 mins to swap a shower.

Consultants aren't charging that kind of money

Buy the shower yourself as there is no trade price on them anywhere to make it worthwhile for the plumber to buy it. Get the new T90Z it's a straight swap for the one you have so there would be no drama for fitting. I would charge €60 for that but it will be between €50 and €80

I'm affraid they are! brought the little fella into Temple street a few weeks ago and the fee was €170.

People give out about plumbers charging too much:rolleyes:

    I hope he is ok
but in fairness they worked hard to get where they are and 8+ years studying (my sister went through it)
We only done an apprenticeship and were making money from the start

He's grand thanks, Numbers 2's where the problem:D:D.

I wouldn't take anyone's qualifications for granted no matter who. I've done more than an apprenticeship, 2 year diploma too as well as further courses and stuff. The problem is we are thrown into the same barrel as the cowboys until trust comes into it with customers and then they realize that they are in fact paying for knowledge and expertise.

we didn't once complain about the fee because where GP's had failed he got my little man sorted.

Besides consultants weren't poked with hot welding rods or hit with washers or sent to the shop when they started :D:D:D:pac::pac::pac:

    Thanks for the replies.
So I am looking around €300 to get it and fit it.

This thread is after giving me flashbacks! I was quoted €695 in 2005 for a replacement install of a T90 shower.

Did it myself in the end.

Have a T90si since 2000 very funny grinding noise lately so stopped using it. Checked my local supplier replacement T90 (T90Z I think) for €250 inc VAT. Would feel confident enough to replace but with Electrics & water a little cautious.
Phoned Triton Service Agent, they still have parts for T90si & are quoting €75 call out + parts if it can be repaired, if not they can offer replacement for €375 including fitting.

Call out is probably worth it if it can be repaired, what do you think?

Would you be confident enough to guesstimate the cause yourself and repair it. Grinding noise on a shower that has worked well sound like either the pump or the motor brushes. Triton will charge you about 50-70 euro for a pump i imagine. Its not a hard fix if your confident.

If your not i would not pay triton 375 for a new fitting when it seems you can get it done here for 300 to 330.

Took the cover off cleaned a mesh filter, but did'nt run it with the cover off. I could proably replace the pump but motor brushes probably not, would'nt really be confdent enough.
