stretching the chassis

    Guys hey. wondering whats the story regarding cutting the chassis of a vehicle and welding a new section in, regarding the test. Itll be doe'd.

    any advice you may have appreciated,

    Not sure, but stretch limos would be a case in point and they must be road legal. The US jobs may be purpose made, but the Mercedes versions are after market mods. I suppose it depends on how well it's done.

    i cut and welded in a new rear chassie subframe in my last jeep, passed the doe no problems.

    Not sure what you're looking for Red, but I suspect that the people with the most experience in this country are those who build hearses.

    cheers lads thats great. will follow up on the hearse idea.

    the jeep was a unibody was it? the landcruiser has a chassis. i want to stretch it, cut the cab and fit a smallish box body onto the back.
