hi myself and mate are going to the Algarve in September first 2 weeks. Which resort would you recommend? We are late 20s. Looking for a good night life. not to young nor not to family oriented. Besides that good beach and good things to do during the day are important too. I think Alburferia sounds better. may be quiter but more interesting place nice buildings and Faro been close is worth a day trip away?

    Alan

Montechero is next to it so you have the best of both. There is a little road train that runs between the 2.

I would recommend Albufeira (just back from there) especially if staying in Motechorro area as you can walk to the strip for the nightlife if youre into it...also if you need a Taxi from the airport I have to say YellowFish transfers were great. 60 euro return and were on time on both occasions and a bottle of wine thrown in as a gift...:D

Albufeira is your best bet...try staying at the pariso / brisa sol, large hotels 5 minutes walk to the strip for your night life. or for self catering holidays holidaylettings.co.uk or holidayhomesdirect.ie

    self catering, hotel, aparthotels....

We don't mind what type really.
We are a couple both in early 20s, we just want something cheap that's not to far from beach and bars etc

Paraiso is half way between strip & old town. For the strip id recommend Ouratlantico.
cheap prices but clean. i've been inside the paraiso, a little bit dated now, but it's very clean.

Oura View Beach Club, (used to he known as Montechero Beach Club) all rooms have sea view, right on the beach, take the lift to the 6th floor & your right at the roundabout at the start of the strip avoiding cardiac hill..... God I'd only love to be there..... Enjoy

    Thanks,

I just had a quick look we are going start of August for 9 nights and they are both coming in at around €1,000 would there be anywhere that would be cheaper as we were hoping to get somewhere max 700.
Can you tell me is there plenty to do in Albuferia for 9 nights?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 365 ✭✭Jocelynel

wow, that's expensive! the only thing i'd say is that the first 2 weeks of August are the most popular 2 weeks of the year in the algarve

maybe try Vilanova, that's located on the Strip or dom pedro. i was going to suggest the brisa sol, not sure how much that would be

i know fat cats have a facebook page (this is a bar/restaurant) they do some rentals aswell.

otherwise all i can suggest is to have look on the usual sites expedia / booking.com / tripadvisor or lowcostholidays.ie

I stayed in Soldoiro.it was cheap when I went and right on the beach. its very basic the pool isn't huge but its ok.what i would advise if you do go is make sure you get an apartment on up high.i would go with the apartment because the studios are tiny. alright if you want cheap and cheerful.if i had a few bob more i would have went somewhere else though
