Saw a "good example/lesson" of driving today from Garda.
I was driving behind them and near phoenix park, we were like 50 metres away from traffic light and it switched amber, I thought Garda will stop as they are obeying laws.

Then I was quite surprised, they sprinted off even faster by the time they got to traffic light it turned red, they still rushed through the red when all cars started moving.

I bet if it was me or someone else they would chase after.

What weird things have you seen garda doing/breaking law?

Garda are exempt from ROTR other then drink driving and dangerous driving and possibly a couple of other things I don't know of the top of my head.

    1. the gardai were on their way to a call or something similiar and so broke the lights in the course of their duty as theyre allowed

    or

    2. the garda is a poor driver abusing his position so he can collect his dominos before it goes cold

we dont really know which is the case.

To be honest it didn't look like they were for a call or something, when they drove off at red I could see them for couple more hunred metres and had no blue lights on + they slowed down after passing the junction

who are we to second guess what they were or werent doing?

if you feel their actions were dangerous i would suggest you contact your local station.

This is just going to turn in to a Gardai bashing thread. Do we allow Gardai bashing threads?

They have a job to do - a difficult one at that. We can only speculate on their actions on the road.

    This.

Locking this before it turns into another Garda bashing thread.
