    I always brake when sneezing, so at least I'm already slowing if something happens ahead. I check to make sure no one is tail gating if possible.

    It's a learning to drive question. Just because you aren't allowed drive on a motorway when learning doesn't mean you can't ask about driving on them.
    Maybe that's why we are so bad on multi lane roads. You can't ask when learning and the majority think that they know it all, after passing a test in a 50/60 zone with less than an hour driving.
