When selling in the mart, what are the requirements regarding testing?

    Testing,

    i have bullocks and

usually, we get a card from the Dept, saying that a test is due on the herd.

well, im thinking, instead of waiting for the card, and having the hassle on a possible test when it doesn't suit me, i should ring up now when it does and get it over with,

thing is, if im not selling till oct/nov. . . is testing now ok? or is there a min test period. .

ie, does the herd need to be tested in the last X amount of days to be sold today ?

Ring the Dvo and tell them to bring forward your annual test. There shouldnt be any problem. You will be free to sell away once all animals have been tb tested within the previous 12 months. The new regulations might cause a problem if a neighbouring farmer has two or more reactors but if you test now and are clear I think you can't be restricted within the next 4 months

    do you have bullocks/heifers/cows?

bullocks-just as long as the tb test isnt out your ok to go
heifers-under 18 months the tb test alone will do,over 18 months have to be blooded-60 days....if not planning on selling they dont have to be blooded
cows need tb and blood-blood does 60 days

Is that the same for factories? Do bullocks have to be in test or can the be under 18 months?

Sorry for jumping in on this thread but can somone tell if the following is true.
I have a heifer to sell, born 9/10/11 so that would make her less than 18 months until the 9/6/13 so I have until tomorrow week to sell with out blooding her?
A friend of mine has told me it has now being extended to 24 months for heifers this year? is this true?

Under the Brucellosis Eradication Scheme, the animals which require to be tested in the Annual Round are female animals aged 24 months or more and bulls aged 24 months or more.
