I've had problems starting my car twice in the past two weeks.

    It's an alfa gtv.
Anyway what happens is I turn the key, and it sounds like it is starting but it just keeps turning over and doesn't start.

After four or five attempts it will start.
The rest of the time it's been fine, the car is driven daily.

Is it possible the starter motor is on the way out?
The battery was replaced last December.
    Thanks :)

Thanks, I'll start with checking the battery then send it in to my mechanic, if it happens again

Both times it's been after I've put fuel in weirdly

Could be quite a few things but hot start issues and alfa often are the crankshaft sensor. Your mechanic is a decent sort anyway so no doubt he'll have it diagnosed easily.

+1 on the crankshaft sensor. They are cheap and its an easy fix.

Lads, I think you might be spot on, I'd similiar but worse issues before and the crank sensor was considered and discounted.

Car is due a service anyway but you've reminded me of that.

    Thanks so much :)
