I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the Saturday Show that was presented Rachael English was the one that was axed and "This week" has always been on.

That is correct. It was "Saturday View" that was canned. Same time slot (1-2PM, but on a Saturday, obviously :)) but had a panel of mainly politicians on, supplemented by a journalist (political correspondent) or two.

It's Brendan Balfe these days, it's worth listening to. I assume Bird will be back in the Autumn though.

Extreme zombie thread! I can find no current one on This Week at all, though, so what harm?

Am I needing of some catchup sleep, or did I just hear Ray Kinsella, a cookie-cutter shill for all manner of conservative orthodoxies, say he was "calling out Western capitalism", in his zeal to dodge his way of not troubling to answer a reasonable question on birth control and the environmental impact of population?

Seems that for the purpose of this interview, rather than risking being seen as anything other than the most More Catholic Than The Pope type, he was happy to feint at being some sort of Cafeteria Capitalist. Without troubling himself at all to say anything with any content on the topic.

(Answer to question is course "both", but it was admittedly rhetorical.)

Just heard Brian Finn interviewing Nuala O Lone & Charlie Flanagan re appointment of new Garda Commissioner. I like Brian presenting business news and general news but both interviews were painful

Was Robert Troy "nasally congested" in his interview on, eh, this week's This Week? Or doing a Mr Malprop routine for a bet?

In the space of one short piece, we had one demand that the government "imply" a measure, two "flatantly"s, and many, many mentions of "unworthy road vehicles".

This is quite the tumbleweed thread. No-one listening to the programme, or just no-one able to hear any of the contributions due to them all talking over each other? (Ó hEadhra is as much stirrer as peace-keeper when it comes to that, I think.)

This month's preposterous FFer -- sadly that seems to be my Single Transferable Topic here -- must surely be Darragh O'Brien. Almost certainly has way more input on the budget than the random minor Blueshirt on the show does. Simultaneously wants to be the loudest and most outraged voice in opposition to the government. Which is quite the task, when you're on with Colette Browne and RBB, obvs.

Emmm - think you’ve got the wrong programme. You’re referring to “Saturday with Cormac OhEadhra”. This thread refers to “This Week” a programme broadcast on Sunday lunchtime.

D'oh! Pesky semi-interchangeable weekend politics-nerd RTE Radio One programming in the one o'clock slot.

(The thread on that show must be equally quiet, mind you...)
