    I know halfords do 4 litres for €20 or so on occasion

    You'll get a 20 litre castrol 10/40 semi synthetic in your motor factors for 65/70.
    So no that's not a good price IMO.
    Buy 20l, your next 3 services will be really cheap.

    You could consider buying online too. I buy from Opie Oils in the UK and they do have special offers on all the time. Makes sense if you're ordering 2 or more bottles and especially if you're a member of a an online motor club, you get a bigger discount.

    Also are you sure its 5L as Castol haven't sold in 5L containers for a good while

    Most likely very old stock or imported from some other country....or, dare I say, fake.

    Castrol don't sell in 5L bottles in Irl/UK at least.

    4.5L bottles is what they do sell though, ya?
    Some of the 10W 30 stuff is more expensive than others.
