It would seem Eirtrade Aviation haved moved into the big hanger located in Apron B at Knock Airport. Flying Club Aircraft and based aircraft there have been booted out of the hanger and are now stored on the very West side of the Apron.

There is an interesting aircraft still in the hanger and will have to move soon EI-CNG,A Gyro,if you see it at all try and get a photo. Also still in the hanger is EI-CZA. Outside on the west ramp now is regulars EI-AOB,N38974(ex EI-CTT),G-HYLT,G-KELL and a recent addition,an "N" reg Rallye.

I see there is an air namibia 737 being scraped down in the cargo apron at the moment, they could do with a bigger hanger to carry out that work.

I saw a note on another website that an Air Serbia 737 was ferried on 28Mar to Knock for scrapping. Is this regular business for them now?

Excellent stuff...this is the kind of heavy engineering that could provide well paid manual work for many...Mayo could easily become to European Aviation the equivalent of Aliaga to the Maratime world !!

The aircraft parked on bravo are as follows. 737s YU-AON and LY-BGC. the A321 is N262LM. Also stored there is a Cessna 550 Citation N7070A,almost a year there now. it was once weston based. Meanwhile just off the main apron the flying club has had a new hanger constructed which is home to EI-AOB,N38974,G-HYLT and N370AJ.

Very interesting that this business is taking off at knock. Didnt think they were much facilities for such work there but no doubt plenty of room for expansion if needed.

Great news for Knock. Can someone explain the scrapping process? I presume it's remove any useful parts, eg. engines. Then the airframe is crushed and scrap metal brought somewhere?
