    Anyone got one?
    Are they reliable?
Do they make a good bale?
    What's the HP requirement?

Very basic baler, no chopper or widepickup. For all intents and purposes an RP12/basic RP200 with RP220 tinwork on top.

I don't have one, but have had rp12s' for years. You need a minimum of 80hp I reckon, and should be reliable.

Personally I wouldn't bother with one though.

What baler would you recomend as an alternative?

    RP220 or JD 575/578

A mate of mine was going to buy it for just his own use - 800 bales per year. If its reliable, it would be a grand farmer's baler. The one he was looking at belongs to a neighbour, only made 1000 bales per year, and is a 2004 classic model. He doesn't chop bales, so the lack of a chopper isn't a worry.

He has looked at a range of other balers, class, JD and Krone mainly, but these guys are looking for an awful lot of money for balers with very high bale counts - its almost impossible to find a baler that hasn't been out on hire work and pushed to the last.
