Have been rocking this drive in my NAS since November on 24/7 streams media perfect. No issues with this spec drive at all.

Would spend the extra few quid for a WD or Samsung personally.

I had 6 WDs in my back-up drive and 2 failed within the last year so my tendency to WD has lessened, all my Samsungs have been rock solid so that's where I go now.

With all HDD's not a bad idea to update Firmware, helps prevent some failures

I'm still kicking myself for not picking up more of these when they were €60. I've had one in my NAS and, as above, works great for that purpose. I think if it was for my desktop machine I would consider a 7200rpm model.

i've had eight 2tb samsung spinpoints in my nas working very hard since around june last year and they've been rock solid so far, touch wood.

was lucky enough to get them from overclockers when they were £59 before the floods.

could have made a killing selling them on at the time if i hadn't desperately needed them. :D

anyway, +1 for samsungs and -1 for WD just recently, had 2 fail on me in the last couple of years and at least 2 seagates in the few years before that (the reason i moved to WD in the first place).
