    Miriam's guests this week are as follows;
Mary Davis joins Miriam O'Callaghan to reflect on her experience during the Irish presidential campaign in 2011 and life after the election.

Comedian Jason Byrne will chat to Miriam about his career to date and his upcoming appearance in the Iveagh Gardens.

Weather presenters Gerald Fleming, Audrey McGrath and Nuala Carey discuss why the weather fascinates Irish people and highlight a new documentary looking back on fifty years of weather forecasting.

Boxing panel Bernard Dunne, Jimmy Magee and Kenneth Egan will also appear to talk about Ireland's preparation for the London Olympics 2012 and our medal prospects.

Clannad will perform their track Newgrange.

Worth watching just to see the lovely Audrey McGrath :o. She is stunning, she should be doing more than just the odd European Weather bulletin.

If you're talking to the lovely girl Skid, ask her where she got her dress.....

And Lapin, stop drooling.....you're spilling the drink:D:D

Audrey McGrath's had an interesting career. I remember her presenting the weather on RTE. Then she moved to TV3 for Ireland AM and then she returned to RTE again, which surprised me because I didn't think RTE looked all that favourably on people who left them to join commercial TV or radio, apart from the bould Marty Whelan.

They should have Jean Byrne on Miriam's show tonight instead of Nuala Carey. She's a lot more interesting.

Purse strings tightened again. Getting all the rte folk out.

Poor Evelyn Cusack doing the Weather while all her pals are getting ready to be interviewed by Miriam.

    A bit like Babysitting. :(

I'd say she's off to the Green Room for a few scoops.....

Put the feet up there Evelyn....:D

Did the Garda check all the suitcases in Peter Darragh Quinn's house?

My mother will be disconnecting the cables from the Sky+ box because my Dad loves Nuala Carey :D

Audrey is looking well. Nuala reminds me of the teacher's pet sitting next to Ms O'Callaghan.

    They will never beat Jean!!!!

It never works having guests on both sides of the Presenter. The dynamic is all wrong - some of the guests are ignored.

Russell Harty got a slap from Grace Jones for that exact reason.

Nuala having a little dig at Jean Byrne

This is like a piss-take to see how boring and backwards they can get, next up they'll bring out 3 priests and ask them what they like about saying mass...

My dad used to call them "Dolly Birds" when women started on the weather forecast and my mother used to sniff at him most disapprovingly.....

John Eagleton was my favourite presenter.

He was a great character, he would say things like "and looking ahead to Tuesday, well it's anybody's guess to be honest ..."

I think Gerald Fleming sort of fancies himself :D

Audrey........ The best weather forcasts ever.

"I have an honours degree" and six weeks of intensive training....say that to Jean, Joan or Evelyn......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

I hate the way the weather forecasters talk down to us sometimes, like when they tell us we can expect Mister Fog. ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

    It might rain....or not.

RTE started hiring "Weather Presenters" after TV3's success with Martin King.

It would be nice if the weather was as dry as Nuala Carey's undergarments.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,322 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

    Jason Byrne

    Miriam giving a wink :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

I''d love to see Ger Fleming doing requests for happy birthdays on his gig the way Martin King throws them out!.....

He at least looks confused when he is guessing the weather!

She certainly airbrushed out her long stint on Ireland AM there when she was talking about her career. Maybe nobody in RTE ever watched it.

Jason Byrne can be very funny on stage, but he doesn't usually make for good television.
