Recycling Books - where to donate?

Sorry don't know what forum at all I should post this in.

I have 3 boxes of books, all moderately decent ones, to give away. I know charity shops USED to take them, but have heard of places refusing them now.

Anyone know of a charity shop on Dublin south-side that would definitely take them?

Mods: Feel free to move this to a more appropriate forum.

Never heard of charity shops refusing books - especially in good nick - shouldn't be hard to find one on the southside. Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum or Bray all have quite a few charity shops.

Oxfam Books on Parliament street would be a good bet. Most of the charity shops on the George st/Aungier st/Camden st stretch should take them. There's enough of them along there you're bound to get rid of them.

There are 5 or 6 charity shops in Dún Laoghaire, all sell books so you should be grand with any of them

Oxfam only like 'as new' books and charge more when selling them

other places differ as to condition

if it's real crap like windows 3.1 manuals , just rid them at the spine into magazine sized booklets and into the recycle bin
