Humax HD Freesat Box - USB?

    Why do I have a USB slot in my Humax HD freesat box?

    I plugged a memory stick in and can't even find a menu on the remote as to what to do with it :confused:

    Manual gone, have box about 2-3 years.

    I was looking for help here but......

    EDIT - I found the manual online, were you deliberately trying to be a smart arse by sending me to the service and support page of the manual ?

    Why would you even bother replying to my post if you haven't an answer.

    Thanks for link to manual, however when I follow the instructions on page 57 I don't get an option of HDD control or Common Interface.

    OP didnt specify if this is HD or HDR (Freesat+)

    If its a standard Freest box, the USB socket is for upgrading the firmware, if the OTA upgrade doesnt work for some reason

    Thanks, as per the thread title it's a Freesat HD box, not HDR, is that the only purpose for the USB socket? I can't record to it can I?
