    Hi

With my new incoming, I think its time to invest in a Home Safe

    Does any one have recommendations?

+1 the majority of those solenoid electronic safes are pretty easy to open, whether you spend 50 quid or 500. Far better bet to just have one with a good old fashioned mechanical lock. Defo sink it into the floor and concrete it in. Even if it's an electronic safe. Makes them much harder to open and obviously damn near impossible for the scum to take with them. Bolting it to a wooden floor will slow the scum down, but a crowbar will see that off. Hide it well. Maybe have a couple of places to secure watches and other valuables. Again not keeping all your eggs in one basket slows the scum down. Don't buy into the "ah sure if they really want it..." defeatist guff. You CAN slow them down/put them off enough to keep your valuables.

Or get a big and angry dog :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I would have thought apart from the hassle of losing your watches, the big advantage of having a good safe would be reducing your house insurance contents premium, so maybe it's worth talking to whoever provides this to see if they have certain standards, or what would reduce your premiums.
I have always kind of thought that where you have the safe hidden is as important as how secure the safe is. I have a really old safe that is bolt operated with a key, is a good size and would probably need 3 people to carry it if they could find it -so no one would be running away with it in a hurry ;)
