Only four players from the republic entered this first PTC of the season and already two have gone out, yesterday Dessie Sheehan and John Sutton fell at the first hurdle. Only Doherty and O'Brien are left and Doherty will have a tougher match than many people expect against a resurgent Joe Swail.

Doherty overcame his first match but lost 4-3 to Luca Brecel, Brecel himself lost 4-1 to Trump.

Jack Lisowski vs Stephen Maguire in the final this evening.

Well done to Mark Allen who completely outplayed Mark Selby in the Belgian PTC. Allen looked fantastic, best snooker I've seen him play in a while

Both Fergal and Ken on tables now. Ken 3-1 up against Swail, Fergal on the comeback against Taylor, a great 130 break to level things for 3-3

Fergal has lost 4-3, Doherty has won 4-1

Yes 4-1 Ken cheers mate a nice birthday present for me, he's back on tomorrow.

  • Site Banned Posts: 4,066 ✭✭✭Silvio.Dante

    Happy birthday Zack.

Ken's had a stinker so far today (one frame down and needing snookers in the second). Joyce isn't much better...

Ken's turned it around to lead 3-2. Very neat break of 80-odd.

He's looking very contented in his chair...

Haven't added the points up yet but he must be assured of a spot in the grand finals in Galway now.

Its nice to see Ding back in form again. He's been in the doldrums for a while now...
