    Hi guys,

I am just looking for peoples opinion on what is better.

I have it narrowed down to a couple of options:

    Opel Insignia 2.0l

    or one of the below:

    Hyundai Santa Fe
    Hyundai Tucson
    Kia Sorrento

    or some along these lines.

I would drive each day to work approx 15 miles each way.

I am involved with different rugby teams and carry a lot of rugby equipment plus bringing 2 dogs for walks (hence the reason for looking at 4x4).

The budget would be approx €16k and will be ready to buy in 2 months.

Would welcome peoples opinion on which would be better.

(Sorry don't have a great knowledge of cars such as MPG etc).

    Thanks

What you're carrying would immediately rule out the Insignia...
Looks like a 4x4 is your best bet but they're expensive to run and tax.

Hardly justification for a 4x4 to carry a few dogs and a rugby ball?
Now on the other hand if there's a speed bump on the school run you might find it useful.

I'd be looking at estates if I were you.
    Marty.

    Octavia combi.
You can fit huge do's in the back of those

Mondeo estate TDCi, more boot space than all but the biggest 4x4. Passat estate pricer but a bit more durable. Octavia combi is a nice job too if you can find a good one

An estate for sure. Better handling, more comfortable drive, better fuel economy, easier to live with, better resale.
If you want something 4wd there are options like the Subaru Forester (although these days thats morphed into a larger SUV rather than an AWD estate) or a Subaru Outback.

I've only ever had estates and wouldn't get a saloon or hatch. Estates are just so practical and these days much better looking than their sallon/hatch counterparts.

We have an Insignia and a Megane estate. Both are great cars but depending on the size of your dogs the estate is better for the dogs. We have two dogs and they'll fit in the boot of the Insignia estate no probs with the cover removed but they're quite small dogs, and probably prefer being in the estate themselves. However the boot space in the Insignia is fairly huge so should be able to manage all your rugby equipment no probs.
