Educational Psychology Article Sources?

    Hey everyone! I'm looking for a number of appropriate databases which can provide me with journal articles, specifically in the area of Educational Psychology.

    My college provides access to a number of online sources and databases, but I still feel quite limited in terms of choices in this area. Ideally, I seek sources that are online (along the lines of a more specific PsycARTICLES) and provide free access, although any suggestions of any kind would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi again Icarus Wings. I don't think there's a specific database that searches Ed Psych journals alone, but I'm open to correction on that. What I've always found useful is to go directly to specific journals themselves (e.g. Educational Psychology, British Journal of Ed Psych etc.) and either browse through them, or search through them.

    I also found loads of material through general Google searches, or searches of Google Scholar. These would often link you to an article that's behind a pay wall, but you can then go and find the article through college online resources for free.

    In general I found PsycINFO and PsycArticles to be pretty useless. The best way to access an article is through finding the journal it's published in, and finding the right edition. Very few of the articles I wanted could be found through PsycArticles.

    Thanks dambarude! Really appreciate the quick response and the helpful advice! :)

    I might have been a bit idealistic about a database specifically for Ed Psychology articles...I'll definitely start to put a sharper focus on my searches, particularly on the individual journals in the area and combine this with access provided by the college.

    I completely agree with you about PsycINFO and PsycArticles! There was a time when they seemed essential for any work in Psychology, but gradually, I've realised how restrictive they can be...
