Farm insurance

    How many compaies in ireland offer farm insurance. This year i want to try to get some quotes before i part with my cash.

    FBD and Aviva are the only two that i know of anyways.

    Liberty/Quinn as well but usually very expensive for small guy I do not know what way with bigger farmers. For the last few years Aviva have been most compeditive for me but FBD has improved this year they were within 50 euro's of Aviva

    I use a broker. Am i better of going direct to insurance company?

    I go direct but the make up of the quote may be slightly different

    Been with em all d last few yrs Quinn aviva fbd. was a total fbd man until a few years ago when I started pricing around, unreal the difference in quotes . Fbd annoy me as they will ask for x but when you say you have a cheaper quote they usually beat it! Why can't they be competitive in the first place!! I'd say I have saved 3k in the last 3 yrs but pricing them all n hop it off the other

    Father with FBD for donkeys years....I got him to price Aviva this year...400 euro diff in same cover!!...he still stayed with FBD as Aviva told him it would be a call centre in India he would be dealing with after time.Got FBD down a bit in price tho.

    Been with Aviva for 10 years. This year they wanted €1500. €700 of that was to cover the tractor. Rang them, and they wouldn't budge. Gor a quote of €1100 from Liberty for the same.

    Have never dealt with FBD before, but on advice got here, I called them one morning and the rep met me that evening after work. €750 in total. Jeep insurance is up next week. Last year it was €450 for comprehensive open cover with a broker. FBD will do it this year for €300.

    reilig, did FBD come out and inspect the sheds and buildings? they did that with me 2 years ago when i bought the house and the sheds

    AFAIK, FBD are the only company that give Employee Liability cover,
    any farmer that hasn't it is walking on thin ice

    €260 for 73 acres with fbd. No yard, livestock or machinery. Just land (only starting out).
