    hi guys
i'm an existing sky customer with 1 tv in the sitting room.i'd like to have another tv in the kitchen but i'd like to just have it as a freesat ,ie i dont want the irish channels ,just the english FTA.
now my question is,can i simply connect another cable to my sat dish, drill a hole thru the wall and connect it to my freesat tv?
if so, which type of cable, cable connectors, where on the lnb etc?
    any info much appreciated.;)

If it's via the red button in ROI, how on earth wiill they put 24 streams so that you will be able to make any sense of it? I presume the Freesat channels will be in HD.

Chances are, if it's a new model Freesat TV, then it most likely is Freeview HD (UK Digitial Terrestrial) compatible as well, which in turn means it'll probably work with the Irish Saorview channels as well.

If you post the model, can confirm either way.

yeah but i'd need a digital aerial and a saorview box to receive them, whereas with the Freesat all i have to to would be connnect it to the Sky dish
havent picked an exact model yet, stil window shopping and the new Argos catalogue is out this sat!

No too many Freesat TVs out there, Samsung do a range and I think Panasonic. I think I also saw a Toshiba in Currys with an F connector at the rear.

The Samsung UXXU range are Freesat and Saorview - http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12-32ES630&pages=1&prod=32ES630&brands=SAMSUNG&image=

Walker have a new range of Saorview/satellite TVs out, not sure if they are Freesat also - http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12-WP3270&pages=1&prod=WP3270&brands=WALKER&image=

Eh no, you wouldn't need a separate Saorview box because as I mentioned above the newer Freesat TVs are usually Freeview HD compatible which in turn means they will also display the Saorview channels i.e. the Freesat TVs will usually do BOTH Freesat and Saorview.

There's no such thing as a 'digital aerial'. It's a UHF aerial, and depending on location, rabbit ears may be sufficient.

The Walker TVs with satellite tuners are free-to-air rather than Freesat.
