Report back with a MPG figure or l per 100km..so many people come on Here saying their car is thirsty which doesn't tell us alot.

only way to do it is fill the tank..then when you fill it again record the distance you have travelled. (Made easier by setting the trip computer to zero at the first fuel fill)

Well I filled the tank, took 75 euro. 69 litre tank I think. 500 km and light came on. 550 and was empty.

Well, it is a bit of a bus Phil! I use an app like this for android on my car, I'm sure IOS has something similar.

Try slowing down a little too. And loose some weight. ;) (It's ok, don't ban me. He's my twin brother)

500 km is about 300 miles, not much, but I'm used to diesel.

A tank fill costs me about €75, i think the tank is about 50 liters and like you, the light comes on between 500/550 km.

Since my previous car was a 2.4ltr Honda Oddessy, i think the Mazda has very good mileage.

Well I doubt you put 69litres in if it cost you 75euros..more like 49 litres..if 550km cost you 49litres that's about 33mpg which is good. ..but if it cost you 69 liters that's about 22mpg..was it empty when you filled it?

You need to refill the tank now AFTER the 550km and record how many liters was used...then you can work out your MPG for sure...

Parkers.co.uk do good breakdowns of car stats including fuel economy so if your a few MPG off their figures its grand.

They are thirsty beasts. Most petrol mazdas are. Count your blessings you didnt opt for the 2lt turbo model. Zoom Zoom Zoom.

I seem to be getting about 600km with a full tank.

I can concur about the tyres....Mazda 5's are hard on tyres...I think it's due to a poorly designed suspension.

My tank is 65L I doubt you will get a 69L tank. I have never even managed to fill up to 65L, there is always a reserve or something.
