I didn't see this posted yet.

You can sign up with Audible at http://www.audible.co.uk/freetrial for a free 30-day trial and get one free book (keep the book forever, not just for the 30 days).

Signing up took about 2 seconds - just sign in with your Amazon.co.uk username and password to start the trial.

Like all these trials (Netflix etc), it'll start charging you after the trial period has expired.

I signed up, got my book, and unsubscribed a couple of days later, no fuss.

I tried it because I wanted the audiobook of "I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan", read by Steve Coogan (hilarious, and 7 hours of entertainment). Saved me €20.

I tried this a year ago with audible.com and ended up staying with them. I pay $20 or so a month and get two audio books. They have a great selection and are handy for commuting.

I signed up for the free book and went to quit as it would be 7.99 for a book every month but they offered me it for 3.99 for three months so I stayed on...

I signed up for the free trial a year ago and have stayed with them too. I have 2 small children and don't have the time to sit down and read a book, now, I can 'read' a book while doing the housework or even while I'm at work

I recommend anyone who's interested in science or economics or psychology to pick up 'Thinking fast and slow' by Daniel Kahneman with their free credit.

it's by far the best non fiction book released this year. (in my opinion) And the narration proceeds at the right pace so despite it's length, you'll get not find yourself getting bogged down (it's quite technical in some aspects, but still very easy to follow)

I'm 'reading' it for the second time now and it still blows my mind

Thanks a mill for this OP. I've been watching Partridges new series and in the 2nd episode he does a few readings from the book. Didn't think it was a legit book, thought it was just part of the episode.

Signed up now and book got...now to unsubscribe...

I tried this a year or so ago for the same book - the software was awful and the audiobook was covered in DRM, couldn't just drag a file to my mp3 player. Ended up pirating the book, quicker and easier.

Their formats can be difficult alright. I tried to get the book The Help for my girlfriend and had a lot of difficulty putting it on her mp3 player. Ironic that trying to stop piracy sometimes forces people to pirate. Otherwise its a good service.

I've been an Audible subscriber and occasional purchaser for years but for some reason they've recently started giving me free credits, which seemingly can be used on any book regardless of price.

Don't wanna be looking a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but anyone else getting this, or know why it might be happening?
