Memory problem

Got a HTC desire yesterday pretty cheap and I know the phone itself has terrible internal memory but when I try download certain apps on google play it tells me "error downloading viber there is insufficient space on the device" now i can still download any app use snaapz market so but the update for these apps wont apply!

The phone is running a custom rom and cyanogenmod 7 but when I try update these it stops on the recovery screen and asks to reboot.

Would flashing a new rom from my memory card be the answer?

you might need to move the apps to SD card. Try this app app2sd https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&hl=en

i suggest you do a full wipe and install ROM again. I remember when i had this phone, there is a way to install 3/4 of the rom into the SD card to free some space. might need to look into it in the XDA forum
