    How can this be avoided?

If we had a sterling bank account with BOI in ROI and a sterling BOI credit card linked to said account would this negate the CBHF when paying with said credit card for goods in sterling within the UK?

I am asking from a business perspective if it makes any difference.

We like to use a card from time to time as it is faster than a bacs payment and affords a little bit of credit as well.

    Thanks

    Hi The Guvnor,

It may be possible for you to open an account with one of our branches in Northern Ireland, which would be a sterling account. You could then also apply for a business credit card on that account. You would need to contact one of our branches there to discuss this. You can find details for all our branches here.

You can also click the following links for information on our UK Visa Business Card and Business Current Accounts in Northern Ireland.

    Thanks for your query,
    Graham

    Thanks for that.

This does not solve the problem.

The goods are from the UK but as an Irish LTD we pay them the ex-vat price if we were to use a UK account this could cause issues.

Is it not possible to have a Sterling account within an ROI branch?

Yes, it is possible to open a sterling Currency Deposit Account with an ROI branch. However, you can't open a sterling credit card on one of these accounts. If you would like to talk to a representative on our Funding Team to discuss a Currency Deposit Account, you can contact them on (01) 790 0079.

    Thanks,
    Graham
