But seriously, that salesgirl should have been taken for a psychiatric evaluation and/or given a lie detector test before even considering leaking the story to the media. I'm not trying to demean the girl or her story but, reading through the article, nothing is mentioned about anyone having questioned the validity of the salesgirl's story.

To be fair, actual spirit possession is extremely rare and, in 99% of cases, there is usually an incidence of heightened tension and emotional stress in the subject's environment. Additionally, almost all (genuine) cases of spirit possession tend to occur in the subject's home - not at the workplace.

Another thing I failed to see in that article was any subsequent attempt to verify the details the salesgirl provided while she was 'possessed':
A man, who witnessed the alleged possession, said the ghost who possessed the salesgirl introduced herself as “Lina,” who said she was killed by construction workers in 2003 and her body was buried in what used to be a vacant lot in Bacolod, but is now occupied by a business establishment.

The ghost told them that her parents are “Lucito” and “Menita”, the witness said.

No-one bothered to check any of that out, by the looks of things.

All of those factors make me think that the so-called 'spirit possession' has more to do with the salesgirl's mental health and desire for attention than the influence of a pesky spirit girl, which is why I think she should see a doctor.
