    Hi Folks,

Ready to go on holiday at the very last minute. Having difficulty finding holidays with one / two days notice i.e.tomorrow or day after. Any advice on how to get an amazing deal by filling the last place on a holiday booking?

Wedsites or travel agents or methods welcome

    PC:)

Was just going to post the same, am trying to find last minute deals. Maybe I was being naive but I thought that it would be possible to find bargains at this stage, but there seems to be nothing really out there. Any tips?

contact the large travel agents - tell them you are looking for a bargain, and ready to go out in the next 2 days. They should be able to get a few options for you - they would rather sell the seats at cost than have empty seats.

A lot of the travel agents wont have these deals on their websites you need to contact them directly
    Try:
    Budget
    Cassidy Travel
    sunway
    Sunworld
    Skytours / Falcon
    Stein Travel
    Abbey Travel

I was in Budget Travel on Abbey street in Dublin today looking for the exact same and there was nothing out there. Ibiza, San Antonio for €480 next Saturday. They said they had no cancellations in their particular store this week. Apparently this is the busiest calendar week they have and not many are cancelling. I'm not surprised considering the prices!

In August I've booked my 8/9 days off so I'm only really snooping at present for last minute and late deals to set the bar, but I've found nothing jaw dropping as of yet. For anywhere that looks half decent (Resort+Location) its minimum €450 pps p/w which hardly strikes me as them being overly bothered whether they sell them or not.

I've never done last minute before, am I mad to think I'd get Spain or Portugal for €300 pps p\w if I sit it out?

I have booked time off work this year for August but can't decide on where to go. I had hoped to go to Viareggio(Adriatic coast - near Pisa) but Ryanair flights have gone up in price and there are not a lot of Hotel deals I can find.

It seems ringing around travel agents is the best way? I'll be going mid August.

In the time when I was able to be spontaneous and didn't need to plan holidays 6 mths ahead ( :p) I have had deals of €299 (sometimes inc taxes, sometimes without). But having said that, these were usually late May, June or early September. Never had a last minute bargain in August, but I did fly from Belfast last yr with Thomas Cook to Turgutreis in Turkey. £320 inc transfers etc. When you include diesel, parking and the exchange rate it was still about €400 pps, 2 weeks B&B. I thought that was pretty good for first two weeks in August.
