<Snip> I was prescribed Trimoptin 200mg twice a day for 3 days. I finished the dose yesterday and I have to say it hasn't made a difference. The reason I'm posting here is because I'm wondering how this antibiotic works. Does it take a few days to get rid of the infection or is it supposed to do the job straight away? Just want some information on it. Thanks:)

Topic will probably be deleted, cant ask medical advice on here. Go back to your doctor if not getting better or ring caredoc,a cheaper alternative, only choice or seek a second opinion.

Wasn't really asking for medical advice. I was asking as to how this antibiotic works. If it is supposed to have immediate effects, then back to the doctor I go. Just wanna find out about it.

Mod note as long as replies stick to the mode of action of trimethoprim I'll allow it stay open but op should contact their gp if they are no better or require medical advice
