Still think he's in with a shot?

Would be crazy if Sky got a one-two, and the green jersey over all, add to that, all British.

Are Wiggens and Froome in the Team GB squad?

Peter Sagan will be the new Green God for a long time ...Sean Kelly is now a big fan called him a REAL Rider yesterday after slagging off Franck Schleck.

when did that happen? if fairness looked like a fairly big n bulky piece of kit the cameraman was carrying. didnt help that he wasnt looking where he was going. good catch, say there could have been interesting scenes if it had dropped totally

Cav is too far back to win the green jersey (Sagan - 333 pts.; Greipel - 236pts.; Goss - 204 pts.; Cav 129pts.). But he should be in with a chance to win today's stage.

The Team GB squad is Cav, Wiggins, Froome, Millar and Ian Stannard.

yeah. he's good. DeniMenchoff is funny too... this morning "Katusha share hotel with Europcar. Caruso go to toilet in envelope last night and leave it outside Rolland room."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,325 ✭✭✭AG2R

    Tweeter Sagan ‏@TweeterSagan
Many fan ask: 'True Sagan sign boobies at start?' Sagan: 'It was either autograph or motorboat. Children watching, and a Schleck, so...'

    Tweeter Sagan ‏@TweeterSagan
Many rider complain about nails on course. Ok, Sagan admit that have little bit dandruff problem, but Mr Cav been very helpful.

just following on the ticker..looks like break might stay away if you apply the 10k per 1minute rule of thumb. 6'20" with 47km to go... will we see some more tongue from tommy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,660 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

    Out to 8 now.

Would like to see vdv or devynyns win, but if i was betting id go for tommy v again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,144 ✭✭✭BQQ

    over 8 mins now.

Tommy surely doesn't have the legs after his huge effort the other day.

    Fedrigo for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Tommy V having a look at the map in the teamcar...Is he gonna have a pop towards the end? I'll go mad if he does, what a legend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 199 ✭✭torturedsoul

thats a major break.... where does this put tommy V if/when they stay away? he will move right up the GC surely

It wouldn't make much of a difference at all.
    If
he gained the advantage that the breakaway have now (over 11 minutes), it would only move him from 34th to around 30th place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 199 ✭✭torturedsoul

crap, I thought he was closer... I was wondering why the peloton looked so relaxed.
    cheers all the same dastardly

2 make an earluy break for the line, will they hold off? (no player only ES ticker in work)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,522 ✭✭✭✭JRant

If I was Cav I'd be royally p*ssed off at sky. He's been very very poorly treated by them this tour. It was his own team that put the hammer down when he got dropped from a climb 2 days ago, that gripel eventually won. He's been doing alot of domestique work and they can't even be bothered to help him in one stage. His one win was down to his own hard work and nothing to do with sky. Shame really as I really like Cav and to be honest I probably just miss the majestic sight of that HTC train in the final km's of a stage going at full tilt.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Ticker stopped working, was Voeckler so awesome he broke it or did the two out in front hold off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,122 ✭✭✭Peterx

Wiggins for yellow and then Cavendish for Gold presumably.
Winning the tour is huge, of course they are working for Wiggins.

On today's stage well done to the winner there, the second lad either couldn't or didn't come round him. And fair play to Tommy!

Fedrigo (easily) beats Vande Velde in a sprint finish

This was Team Sky's plan for this year's Tour.
Cav acts as a domestique and gets little or help for sprint finishes, with the main goal being Wiggins to win overall.
In return, Cav had the whole GB team working for him in last years World Championships, and will also have them working for him in the Olympics.
I don't think Cav has any issues with the current situation.

Interesting: Has the Tour, Olympic and Worlds win ever been done in the same year?

Thats all well and good, Cav knew what he was signing up for and by the way he may still have had those riders help on the GB team regardless of who he rode for, but answer me this. Why is it the only day they decide to form a train is when he's been left behind by his own team? Wiggins leading out EBH for a sprint that he never had a hope of winning yet they wont turn a pedal to help Cav. I hope he gets out of there as soon as the olympics are over to be honest.

Why do you reckon EBH didn't have a hope of winning that stage? He has a decent sprint finish. Fair enough, he would have done a lot of domestique work during the stage, but there were very few sprinters left to contest for the win (Sagan, Greipel, Hinalut). I thought it was clever enough of Sky to try and get the win for EBH in that particular stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,910 ✭✭✭couerdelion

Cav's main aim this year is the Olympics. He has already said he thinks he is too light to be challenging for the sprints and it was a surprise to him that he managed to win one at all. Why would the team try and put him in a position to win if that's the case?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,486 ✭✭✭manafana

the tour and one day racing is a different kettle of fish,

ullrich managed to win road race and a silver in tt in 2000 some feet. Cancellera medalled in both in 2008 too.

before 96 pros couldnt compete so not long to go back for facts of riders winning in same year as other races.
