    hello,

i have a hp pavallion 6700 and have had vista on it for years so i decided to upgrade to windows 7. i installed windows 7 no problem and proceded to do my windows updates. about 80% in to windows update i experianced a blue screen of death. the system now just continuously reboots without logging into windows, just reboots and trys to start windows 7, but same blue screen of death. i then tried to get into safe mode and upcomes the windows update screen but it states windows failed to update, then reboots and same thing happens. so i decided to reinstall windows 7 again to see if it made a difference same thing happens.

i went into the bios to run a ram test and hard drive test, both come back fine. i cant even log into windows to get a dump report of the blue screen. i have not tried reinstalling windows vista, that is my next step just wanted some advice before trying windows vista again.

i installed windows 7 in another laptop just to see if the windows 7 i bought is ok and it works fine in the other laptop.

    please see pics attached.

Is the windows 7 disc meant for a 32bit or 64bit system?
