Electric Drum Kit

Hey all. Im thinking of investing in an Electric Drumkit. I already have an acoustic one, which I have spent a lot of money on and its still sub par with poor sound. I just dont want to spent thousands improving it and getting a decent sound from it, also acoustics are far too loud for my liking.

So electric appeals to me greatly. Does anybody know of any decent kits for about 700-800euro? Preferrably off thomann. There seems to be a few on there but Im unsure to be honest.

If you spend a lot of money on a kit and the sound is subpar, it's obvious you must not be tuning it well. I presume offhand it's a decent kit, what one is it? I'd invest some time in learning how to do that. It won't cost a lot of money either. It's really an art form in itself.

To answer your question, the TD4 is the best Roland you can get new for that money. It looks ok but the TD4 module ain't as good as the TD9 module. I'd look into buying second hand, you'll get a better kit, possibly a TD9.

I don't know much about Yamaha e kits sorry.

Nah its not that good of a kit, its a Dixon. I just spent so much money over time on mediocre items for it and I dont want to replace all of them all over again, coupled with the constant maintaining and replacing of things like skins its just too expensive and annoying for me. also as I mentioned, the sheer noise of them puts me off.

The best item on it is a Yamaha musashi snare drum, which I quite like.

Tuning isnt that much of a problem for me, but I honestly love playing electric kits. They feel nice and are easy to play. Im not serious of a drummer, I just like playing along to songs and stuff.

A TD 9 is a great kit and you can update the software to the td9 kv2 which gives you more kits and sounds... The update can be downloaded as a torrent free and on YouTube there's a video showing how to install it ... I've seen second kits for 800 that's where I got mine and I love it it's in my kitchen and I can play it anytime I like. Good luck !

If you like playing along to songs then the TD9 is great cos you have a mix in option and can plug in an MP3 player. It mixes with the drum sounds.
