I have run a search but all similar threads are quite old. My wheelie case is too big to take as hand luggage on an aer lingus flight on Monday. I am planning on bringing a sports bag. It is about 5 cm too big on one dimension but I won't be filling it. It is much smaller on the other dimensions and will fit under my seat. Do they measure bags or is it genaerlly ok once you can squish them into the cage? I haven't flown Aer Lingus in ages. I want to take my laptop so my usual option of a big handbag is gone. Also I presume it's OK to bring GHD and hairdryer, phone chargers etc in cabin bag?

Once the bag fits in the hand luggage display you'll be fine they dont meassure the bags your lucky it folds down a bit so u can squash it in. You can bring lap tops ghd's and chargers ok. Just the liquid they dont let u bring in hand luggage

Thanks, am not trying to take the p by having a bigger bag. I just have some overflow from the suitcase and don't want to buy another new suitcase. Damn being totally rule abiding... I see people bringing half their houses on planes and I freak over a few centimeters!
