bmw 318i oil pump

I was having an oil pressure problem with my bmw 318 so i removed the sump and the oil pump and heres what i found. I had some repair history with the car and before i bought, it it had a timing chain and guides replaced due to the guides breaking up, unfortunately the broken pieces of the guides musnt have been cleaned out of the sump after the repair

The first thing i found was the oil pickup pipe in the sump was missing its plastic strainer. ( i later found parts of this inside the oil pump).

After removing the pump i found some more damage, mainly to the pump rotor, all the little bits of plastic in the picture were found inside the pump. Its hard to see in the picture but the oil pressure relief valve is stuck open with all the bits of plastic

Have you checked the condition of the cam journals and big end/main bearings?

Do you know if the chain tensioner was changed previously for the upgraded part? If not, especially given that you had oil issues, I;d make sure to change it now.
