Joining Miriam on the sofa this week will be:
MTV presenter Laura Whitmore joins Miriam to chat about her life in London, as well as discussing what it was like to carry the Olympic torch. The Bray native is also set to talk about what it is like to be dating The Coronas frontman Danny O'Reilly (Mary Black's son) and the TV project that's bringing her home.

Eight-time champion jockey Ruby Walsh and his wife Gillian will also be on the show to talk about his career and their family life.

O'Callaghan will also interview Fianna Fáil TD Éamon Ó Cuív, who recently crossed swords with his party leader, Micheál Martin.

Brendan Shine will be in studio to perform his hit track Do You Want Your Old Lobby Washed Down Con Shine, with Eamonn Campbell from the Dubliners on keyboards.

I'm just so delighted that Miriam is putting on such a brave face and sticking with RTE after all the trouble this year and is delivering such high quality entertainment.

I met Brendan Shine and his wife in a little Tea Shop in Co. Galway a couple of years ago. He seemed like a really nice man, very down to earth. He was mortified when the owner asked him to sign the visitors book.

Being a roaming reporter, it's his natural inclination to sit really far away from the TV Presenter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,585 ✭✭✭✭Lady Chatterton

My heart goes out to the Harte and McAreavey families. Unfortunately, there seems to be no chance of a conviction now thanks to the shoddy investigation carried out by the police :mad::mad::mad:

The dont see what the problem with them cheering was, those men were innocent and fitted up to get someone for the crime.

either that or he was warned after yer man from the band last week sat on Mir's couch. Id say he was lucky to escape with out a restraining order

How Tommy Gorman ever got a job as a reporter defies belief, hes absolutely useless.

At least one person in that hotel knows what happened....

    Local men, local Jury.....

Foreign death....When you are away and a crime is committed against you the onus is on you to a certain extent to prove otherwise unfortunately....

It is a difficult thing to do if you are just there on holidays....You really are alone abroad.

According to the Marian Finucane/Claire Byrne Show this morning, the police didn't even interview the people staying in the neighbouring rooms. Surely that should have been standard procedure to know if they'd heard or seen anything??

I wonder will they send a reporter to the trial in Japan of the wexford girl that was strangled or is it they only send reporters to deaths of high profile figures.

Unfortunately that Harte/McAreavey families are left with loads of unanswered questions now similar to the family of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

I've been wondering about that too ... what about those 2 women murdered in Turkey? I think the Irish media, RTE in particular, totally lost the plot on the McAreavey murder.
