Apart from Oppo? I've bought a few region A blu rays and am looking for something cheap and reliable. Is there any places in ireland that do hacks or sell multiregion players? I know about the uk online sites.

I got a Foehn & Hirsch blu-ray player a couple of years ago from eBuyer. However, they've stopped shipping to ROI.
I'm not sure if you can get them here. It's a brand that does multi region nonetheless..

I actually bought a foehn & hirsch second hand and entering the region code broke it.

Since first posting the thread I figured it out. I bought a toshiba bdx 3200 from currys.ie for 90 euro. I then stook a firmware update on usb and put it into the player. Works a charm. I bought breaking bad blurays and a few criterions from amazon usa and had no problems.

Just type in "toshiba bdx3200 avforums region free" to find how to update the firmware.

Yeah the bdx3200 is a great player especially when you can make it region free for both dvd & bluray :D
