    Hey

I was looking to move over to proper shoes-as apposed to my runners at the minute. Went into the local shop and can get a pair of entry level 'specialized' shoes for €89 and the pedals etc for €45, and they will fit them,is this a good deal?

yes not bad, you nead cleats (plastic objects that fit to the bottom of your shoes), make sure you are getting a road shoe & not a Mountain bike shoe
Ask what type of pedals you are getting, "LOOK" are a good brand

Looks good, you can walk into shops etc with mountain bike shoes but they are heavier
