    That's just generic free to air not Freesat

    Great Stuff pa990, I have been waiting for a solution which blended FreeSat and SaorSat into one box. A few questions if you don't mind:-

    1. Do both feeds offer 7 day EPG and "Series" type recording?
    2. If you want to record TV do you have to install or attach a separate hard drive and if so does that require it's own power source or will the 'box' feed power to it?
    3. Can you watch one channel and record off another at the same time? Can you be watching SaorSat and be recoding FreeSat and vice Versa?

    If the answer to the above three questions is 'YES' I'll be a happy camper.

    As pointed out in post #2, it isn't Freesat, just generic free to air.

    Any DiSEqC capable receiver can switch seamlessly between feeds from different satellite positions.

    I'd also doubt that anyone who can set up a multisat system will suddenly fall down when it comes to tuning & ordering the channels.

    With the ironic exception, in this case, of Freesat receivers & their non-Freesat mode, though the Humax Foxsats have a software fix.

    Accessing the DiSEqC Menus, is via a secret menu, by pressing the colour buttons in the following sequence:
    RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE

    Above for Humax

    @benthere

    I only posted the vids as it may be of help to someone.
    I wouldn't be the best qualified person here to answer all your questions

    Saorsat is only intended for those that cannot get Saorview. It does not and probably will never carry TV3 nor 3E.

    1) For recording FreeSAT it is better to use a FreeSAT + box, generally the humax is best.

    2) There is no series link information on Saorsat nor Saorview. It will have series link in the future.

    3) Recording Saorsat and Freesat together can cause problems. It is not a perfect solution. If you really need Saorsat and recording is a must get a humax FreeSAT box now and learn the compromises.
